  1. They are the most successful British team in Europe with five European Cups/ Champions League titles.
  2. In 1985 Kenny Dalglish was appointed player manager of Liverpool, this made him the first man in English football history to take up such a role.
  3. The Reds’ famous home ground of Anfield actually used to belong their city rivals of Everton up until 1891 where they moved to Goodison Park.
  4. Liverpool FC was only formed on the back of this as there was an empty stadium doing nothing so the stadium owner signed 13 players from Scotland and Liverpool FC was born.
  5. Their first match was watched by just 100 supporters inside their 20,000 capacity stadium.
  6. The Merseyside derby has been more players sent off than any other Premier League fixture.
  7. The city was so outraged when Bill Shankley resigned from his manager’s position in 1974 that a factory threatened to go on strike until he came back.
  8. Liverpool’s most successful manager was Bob Paisley, he was in charge for nine years and only failed to a win a trophy in his first season with the club.
  9. Ian Rush is the all-time leading goal scorer for Liverpool with 346 goals.
  10. Ian Callaghan has made the most first team appearances for the club with 857.
