Following FC Halifax Town’s impressive 3-0 away win at Leyton Orient, striker Adam Morgan believes the side have no fear in this league as they jump to 2nd place in the Vanarama National League

The in form forward praised the set up at the club and believes their is nothing stopping Halifax from achieving this season if they can continue this hot run of form.

“We come into this league with no fear, we’ve got nothing to lose. We’ve got a great manager, great staff, great players.”

“I don’t know why we can’t do something in this league.”

Town battled extremely well in the game and even though they fell siege to some intense pressure from the former Football League side, the players held on and came away with a superb win and a well deserved clean sheet and Morgan has overwhelming faith in the side’s defensive abilities, especially away from home.

“We know teams are going to have spells in games and we know the quality of Leyton Orient, they’ve got a good manager, a good set of lads so they were always going to have spells in the game.”

“But look at our defence we haven’t conceded a goal away from home if I’m right so we were full of confidence we know there’s going to be times in the game where you’re going to have to withhold it but the way we play.

“We know we’re deadly on the break and that’s what we played like today and we’ve come away 3-0 winners.”

Morgan has been striking up a formidable partnership with fellow forward Tom Denton and the two combined well for the first goal of the game, with Morgan volleying in Denton’s flick after just five minutes and he knows that their link up is key moving forward.

“Yeah I didn’t know it was that early on but you know I’ve been working a lot with Dents and he’s flicked it on fantastically and I used my body like the gaffer wanted me to do and I’ve managed to finish it”

A fine goal to open the scoring however Morgan remained critical of his finishing, feeling he should’ve finished the game with the match ball under his arm.

“It was probably the easiest of my three chances that I had I’m a bit disappointed that I didn’t get two more but again we got three points so I’m delighted.”

With Halifax moving into second in the league, you would think Morgan would be very content however the striker feels the side could be even higher and should have a higher total at this ten game stage in the season.

“I think we’ve been playing really well but we’re disappointed that we haven’t got a few more points on the board.”

However, he was proud of the team for sticking to the manager’s plan against Leyton Orient especially after a tough week and a very long journey.

“Yeah thought we came with a game plan, we stuck to it, we were full of confidence after Saturday’s game. We knew there’d be a few tired legs but it was about sticking together. We did and we’re delighted to get the win.”
