On Tuesday night, FC Halifax Town battled to a goalless draw with Welsh side Wrexham. Manager Jamie Fullarton was on hand after the match to speak to the official website about the tough upcoming fixture with Leyton Orient.
Orient will be the third successive opponent that The Shaymen have had to face inside the top seven. Jamie had this to say about the string of difficult fixtures:
“It’s great, we’ll be looking at home to continue with our good form and performances. Hopefully the fans will turn out in their numbers again. I’ve got to stress that they were vibrant, loud and we heard them singing throughout the whole game tonight, which was a real spur for the players. We look for that to give us a real edge on Saturday against Orient”.
FC Halifax Town haven’t dropped a single point at home yet after wins against Barrow, Maidstone United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Gateshead. We asked Fullarton if he expected the winning streak at home to continue.
“There’s never an expectation on results. What there is an expectation on is the approach of the players; their attitude and application. I’ll bore you silly with those words because that’s what we demand. The expectation comes from the fact that they provide that attitude and application, which has resulted in not only good results but performances”.
There’s not a lot of time for The Shaymen to prepare for our upcoming opponents, but Jamie reassured us that his side’s professionalism would continue.
“We’ll be approaching it in the same way and preparing like we do, regardless of whoever we play. We’ll be looking to do something similar as we did tonight, only this time get the three points”.
2nd placed Leyton Orient will visit the MBi Shay Stadium this Saturday with kick-off taking place at 3pm. Head over to Shaymen TV to watch the full interview with manager Jamie Fullarton.
