AFC Halifax made the trip south to take on our good friends from Leyton Orient and the squad had rewarded with an overnight stay, a chance to live like the first team! Although I hope they didn’t experience the Friday evening that the fans team did! With a few of the squad making their Hackney Marshes debut and excited to be playing on such famous pitches. After a what can only be described as a loose warm up the AFC lads started the game slowly, gradually as the half wore on the AFC heads had been cleared and get started to take charge. An exquisite lob over the stranded O’s custodian gave Halifax a 1-0 half time lead. The lads were told at half time to continue doing the right thing and the points would be heading up north with the boys on Sunday. That is exactly what they did, andΒ  a second Martin Probets goal secured the win and a 3rd clean sheet in 3 games against the Orient was an added bonus. An impressive performance in the afternoon by the first team made it a very enjoyable weekend in the smoke. AFC Halifax debuts were given to Eliot Frilli, Ian meal deal Beales and Anthony who came with the reputation of being the best goalkeeper south of Doncaster and didn’t disappoint!
