Kidderminster: Preview

FC Halifax Town are back in League action this Saturday, as they host play off rivals Kidderminster Harriers.

Kiddy currently sit one place above the Shaymen in the National League North table, and have won their previous two league encounters.

Last time out the Harriers, who were where Premier League winning Captain Wes Morgan started out his career, had an impressive win at Stockport County. This moved them above they Shaymen in the table but a victory for Town in this fixture would reverse this, and move Town up to at least fourth.

The Midlands side may have lost their first round FA Cup tie last weekend, away at League Two Blackpool, but are sure to be a tough test for the Shaymen.

Billy Heath’s side will be hoping to put the disappointing 3-1 home defeat in their last outing behind them, and get back the form which saw them win seven straight matches in October.

Town also have the upcoming cup replay against Dagenham & Redbridge to look forward too on Tuesday night, which will be in the back of the players’ minds.

Kiddy have not beaten the Shaymen in eight years, a record Heath and his side will be trying to extend.

Both these sides came down together last season and both Halifax and Kidderminster hold out strong hopes of an immediate return to the National League, and a win for either side will be a big step towards doing that.
