FC Halifax Town travel to Ewan Fields this Saturday, March 8th to play bottom club Hyde.

The 3 o’clock kick-off will see both clubs play their 36th game of the season.

Scott McNiven’s side are yet to win a home game this season and victory for The Shaymen would mean that Hyde’s relegation could be confirmed the following weekend when they travel to Alfreton should results elsewhere go against them as well.

Team news:

Club Captain Danny Lowe could make his return to the match day squad, with Ryan Toulson remaining the only long-term absentee due to injury. Josh Wilson remains sidelined through suspension and Matty Pearson could be rested after his midweek international trip to Jordan.

Current form:

Hyde’s poor form has been well documented all season and since winning on the 14th January away at Welling, they have lost five and drawn two of the last seven.

Key man:

The key man for Hyde FC is striker Scott Spencer. The former Oldham Athletic, Everton, Yeovil Town, Macclesfield Town, Rochdale, Southend United and Lincoln City man is Hyde’s top goalscorer this season with eight goals.

Played for both:

John Blythe who played his football in the 60s and only played a handful of games for Halifax and he also represented Hyde. Also Harvey Cunningham, Peter Crookes, James Dean and Barry Diamond played for both. Most notably midfielder Kevin Hulme who played 96 times for Town also played for Hyde.

Last Meeting:

The last meeting between the two sides was earlier on this season, with the Shaymen running out 4-0 winners thanks to a brace from Lee Gregory and a goal apiece from Lois Maynard and Josh Wilson.

Officials:

Referee: Wayne Barratt

Assistant Referees: Christopher Husband and Lisa Rashid

Fourth Official: Mark Ackerman
