Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. Today sees the first in a number of “derbies” for this season. To me, the one and onlyΒ advantage of being in this Division is the reduction in travelling times and costs, and I hope that throughout the season, both our own and many opposition fans make the most of the situation. The top of the table is still being sorted at this early stage, and last week we played theΒ two other pace-settingΒ teams (Tamworth and Stockport). This week, two of the new pace-setters are Fylde and Harrogate, and guess what? Here we go again!

Ian Helliwell, up until recently the Club’s kit-man,Β has asked us to print a message from himself in our programme notes today. His message reads that heΒ “wishes to thank all Supporters Club Members from the bottom of my heart,Β not only for the bucket collection but for their support of me over all the years. They are all special people!!!!”. We would like to take the opportunity in turn to thank Ian for his input over the years; and long may it continue!

I promised last week to give you an update on the Fun Race Night at the Belgrave Club this coming Friday, September 2nd. The decision has been taken NOT to re-arrange this event, and it will be held as planned, commencing at 8pm. Please come along for what is sure to be an exciting and entertaining evening.

Sponsorship is of paramount importance to your Supporters Club, as it is for our parent Club FCHT. We would like to thank all our sponsors, and in particular our main sponsor,Β Darren Playford of DJ Home Refurbishments & Property Maintenance, whose advert accompanies this article. Other opportunities to assist appearΒ with our Play the Squares and the Goal-o-meter initiatives,Β full details of which appear on other pages of this publication. To participate, just speak to any member of the Supporters Club Committee.

Finally, this week, we need to look back to last season’s Supporters Club Raffle,Β drawn at the last home game in April. Unfortunately, one of the top prizes has yet to be claimed.Β Our second prize, aΒ Wines and Spirits selectionΒ was won by ticketΒ 0501. The name on the ticket reads “Josh”, and the telephone number given isΒ 07983 799631. I have rung and texted this number many times over the summer, but have received no response whatsoever, so the prize still sits in my kitchen, gathering dust. If anyone has a clue as to who the “lucky” winner might be, I ask that they contact us soon. Failing this, the Β£70 prize will be carried forward into this year’s raffle. Martin Reynolds has yet toΒ collect his bottle of whisky from Hipperholme Post Office, but at least we have made contact with him. We just can’t give these things away, can we?

See you soon Kit
