FC Halifax Town will travel to Wetherby Road in hopes of continuing their impressive winning run. Four wins on the bounce for Billy Heath’s men means that the Shaymen will face Harrogate Town full of confidence.

Although Halifax will have to be weary of Harrogate because the North Yorkshire side have already managed one win over the Shaymen this season. A narrow 1-0 made sure that the visiting fans were the happier ones and the Halifax player’s will be looking for a measure of revenge.

If that revenge is to be claimed, someone who may have a huge part in it would be Alex Simmons. The Lincoln City loanee has been an incredible signing for Halifax in the short time he has been here and has notched five goals in his last five games. Already announcing himself as the perfect player to link up with Tom Denton, the forward latches onto flick-ons and through balls to make himself a real danger going forward for Halifax.

The man who Harrogate Town fans will be wanting to see take charge of the game will be Jon Paul Pittman. The former Aston Villa forward joined Harrogate in the summer and has already scored nine goals in the league for his new team.

Despite Harrogate already having a win over Halifax and being higher than them in the league, Simon Weaver’s team do not come into this game in particularly good form. They needed a replay to progress to this round of the competition after a 3-3 draw with FC United of Manchester. Also more recently in the league Harrogate suffered a 1-0 loss to Chorley in the league.

The odds may seem a little bit against the Shaymen in terms of where the two teams are in the league, but going on form the fans of Halifax Town should be cautiously optimistic of getting to the first round proper.
