The Shaymen travel to Skrill North side Harrogate Town on Saturday afternoon to contest their fourth game of preseason.
A number of players have links between the two teams, including current manager Neil Aspin and his assistant Lee Nogan.
Aspin took his first steps into management at Harrogate before taking the top job at the Shay.
Former striker Lee Gregory has donned the shirt of both Yorkshire towns during his career, spending time on loan at Harrogate before heading to Halifax where he scored 72 goals in 112 appearances for the Shaymen prior to his transfer to Championship outfit Millwall this summer.
Clayton Donaldson spent time on loan at both clubs, however the striker failed to find the net in his five appearances for Halifax during the 2003/04 season.
Donaldson went on to play over a hundred games for both Crewe Alexandra and Brentford before joining Birmingham City this summer on a two-year deal following the expiry of his contract at the Bees.
Another front man with connections in both Yorkshire camps is Danny Forrest, he made 107 appearances for the Shaymen between 2005 and 2008, scoring 14 goals.
