Gloucester City: Supporters Club

Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. The top of the National North League table is looking increasingly competitive as we approach the β€œbusiness” end of the season, with the Shaymen clinging on to a playoff place and the Tigers not all that far behind.

Hopefully, Gloucester will soon be able to return to play in their own city, having been exiled by flooding for a full ten years now. I would recommend the Quays area of Gloucester to any fans looking for a good night out, and a move home has to be a priority for the Club.

Our previous home fixture was chosen as the Supporters Club sponsored match for this season, and what a day out we had. There were certainly no complaints about the pre-match meal and entertainment, and everything seemed to go according to plan in the banqueting area. It was a shame the team couldn’t top the day off with three points, but Boston proved up to the task, so a single point had to suffice on this occasion. Thanks to all who contributed to the regular South Stand collection, where the bucket had to fend for itself due to my involvement with the sponsorship!

We would like to advise all supporters that, with effect from today, the Supporters Club Memorabilia Stall run by Dave β€œCrocker” Crossley has been relocated from the East Stand main concourse to the ‘pop-up’ shop adjacent to the main entrance. This will give everyone attending the game the opportunity to view the goods on offer, and to donate any sports programmes and other goods directly to the stall. As ever, all profits made will be ultimately passed on to FC Halifax Town.

On a sadder note, the Committee would wish to place on record our condolences to the family of long-standing Town fan Kenneth Cant, who passed away recently. He was a regular supporter from his early years until fairly recently, when ill health prevented his attendance. We would also wish Supporters Club member Laurie Plumbe a swift recovery following his recent stroke.Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β  Β Β
