FC Halifax Town U19’s host table-toppers Gatehead U19’s at Huddersfield’s Leeds Road sports complex this Wednesday kick-off 15:15pm.

Both of these sides met a week before Christmas day as the Tynesiders comprehensively defeated FC Halifax 6-0. Since that encounter the young Shaymen have gone on to only win one of their last six Football Conference Youth Alliance – North fixtures. By contrast Gateshead have won five of their six league games scoring 31 goals in the process, although the North-East club did lose 6-2 to Chesterfield in their last away match.

Despite the differing form guides Town have received an injection of confidence as players Louis Penty, Jack Bradley and Will Chappell have all been selected for the West Riding County FA Squad

that will take on the Amateur Football Alliance in the Quarter-Finals of the FA County Youth Cup.

A win for Des Hazel’s troops could potentially see his side climb above Hyde into sixth place.
