FC Halifax Town has today confirmed that midfielder Dan Gardner has left the Club to join League Two side Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee.

Gardner, who has signed an 18-month contract with Paul Cook’s side, joined The Shaymen from Droylsden in July 2012 and was instrumental in our promotion into the Conference.

The former Celtic trainee has scored seven goals in 27 appearances for Neil Aspin’s side this season, but will now make the step back up to League Two and look to add to the two appearances he made in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra back in the 2009-10 season.

Everybody at FC Halifax Town would like to thank Dan for his service to the club and wish him all the best with the next step in his footballing career.
