FC Halifax Town picked up a 3-2 win away at Gainsborough Trinity.
Town opened the scoring with a well worked move through the middle. Excellent link up between Zak Gilsenan and Conor Carty left the former with just the keeper to beat, and he cooly slotted home.
It took until late in the second half for The Shaymen to double their advantage. Substitute David Kawa made a great run down the right-hand side, cut it back for Trialist F who fired over the ‘keeper and into the roof of the net.
The hosts halved the deficit just minutes later. A low ball across the box from Harvey Sutcliffe found the outstretched leg of a Gainsborough man, and span into the bottom corner.
Town restored the two goal-cushion with another powerful finish. Trialist F cut the ball back to the edge of the box and Trialist G fired it into the top corner.
With a minute left, Gainsborough won a penalty from a handball. The Trialist ‘keeper got to the initial effort, but it rolled under him to make it 3-2.
