The result of the night certainly came at the Shay where Town produced an emphatic 5-1 win over Salisbury to leapfrog their opponents and move up to seventh. The league’s top goal scorer Lee Gregory netted a hat-trick to get the Shaymen’s playoff push back on track, ending their six-game winless run.
Fellow playoff hopefuls Nuneaton all picked up an impressive three points last night with a 2-1 victory away at Lincoln which has seen them move up into the playoff places. Goals from Theo Streete and Adam Walker either side of the break gave the visitors their third win of 2014.
Elsewhere, Macclesfield claimed a 3-2 win at home over Chester to keep their playoff hopes alive. Despite being 11th in the table, Macclesfield are only six points behind fifth placed Nuneaton with games in hand so they won’t be ruling themselves out just yet.
