Good evening, and welcome to you all. Since their inception, we have rarely played FC United, but the games are well remembered for a particularly good atmosphere each time. I hope and expect we will see a significant away following tonight as we resume our old rivalry.

Firstly tonight, I must thank the FCHT Board of Directors for giving up their time to attend our Supporters Club meeting the other week as Open to Question guests. The FA Youth Cup fixture on the same night helped to swell the audience, and we were given further insight into the “workings” of our Club. I was surprised to read one or two people thought the level of questioning was poor; after all, everyone at the meeting was invited to ask their own questions. Presumably, they thought they couldn’t do any better! Anyway, it was good of the Board to join us, particularly as the Chairman bought a round at the end of the meeting.

We have two forthcoming events to publicise. Our annual Football Quiz will be held at the Flying Dutchman pub on Boothtown Road this Thursday 27th October (it is half term week). The quiz commences at 8pm. Teams of four people will compete, entry being £2 per head. A cash prize will be awarded to the winners. A pie and pea supper will be served following the quiz. All are welcome on the evening, which has kindly been sponsored by John Chew.

Additionally, our regular Belle Vue Dogs Trip has been scheduled for Saturday 12th November (after the Kidderminster home game). The coach will leave the Shay at 6pm. The cost will be approximately £10, depending on how full the coach is on the night. Individuals are to arrange their own entrance and meals. Note that good deals are available on the Belle Vue website. Return to Shay is after the last race at 10.45pm ish.

To book, or for further information regarding either event, contact Dave Crossley (Crocker) on 07709819917.

The Halifax Town Supporter’s Club are looking for new committee members and a secretary who can take over the administrative side of things. Ideally the person will have the necessary computer skills (Word, Excel etc.) and secretarial skills. No CV required, just a passion for The Shaymen.
