The Shaymen were in FA Trophy action today against Halesowen Town, who are flying at the top of the Southern League Division One Central and on a confidence boosting cup run themselves. National League teams faced up against themselves and lower ranked sides this week in the Buildbase FA Trophy with only a few league games being played this week. Of the league action, the biggest fixture of the afternoon was at Bromley, as they drew two-all with fellow play-off hopefuls Solihull Moors courtesy of a 93rd minute equaliser for the home side (Bromley).
Elsewhere, more late drama in the lower ends of the table as Chesterfield picked up a big 3 points and from 2-1 down with a 94th minute winner thanks to Curtis Weston.
Ex Halifax playmaker Liam McAlinden looked to have sealed a win for visiting Stockport in their game at Dagenham & Redbridge with Chike Kandi scoring in the 89th minute, but it wasn’t to be with Dagenham having a goal in the 93rd minute themselves to finish the tie 1-1.
Hartlepool lifted themselves into the top half of the Vanarama National League and an outside hope of play-offs with a 2-0 win against Aldershot, Luke Molyneux and Mark Shelton making the score sheet.
