FC Halifax Town have been given a difficult draw in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup as they face a trip to second placed Vanarama National League side Dagenham and Redbridge.
Town manager Billy Heath will see his in-form side take on the team from the league above after already beating Ashton Athletic, Stalybridge Celtic and Harrogate Town to progress to the much coveted first round proper.
Despite being over the moon with his sideโs achievements, the former North Ferriby United boss was disappointed not to draw a team at home for the MBi Shay Stadium crowd.
โItโs a tough draw. Obviously with them being second in the Vanarama National League. We wanted a home tie. But weโll have to travel down there a for a difficult game.โ
The game will mean that the Halifax players will be travelling a long distance to the outskirts of London and Heath has admitted that the distance will certainly be a factor in the result.
โYes with the journey we may have to stay over so that will add something to the match. As Iโve said we would have liked a home game but we havenโt got that so regardless we look forward to the game.โ
The game against Dagenham and Redbridge is scheduled to be played on the 5thof November and hopefully the fireworks will be flying out for a Halifax victory and another FA Cup upset.
Alfreton Town vs FC Halifax Town will now be rearranged; we will have the new date confirmed as soon as we can.
