Eastleigh: We Have Different Styles Of Playing

Following FC Halifax Town’s 3-1 win over Eastleigh, midfielder Kieran Green spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“We are very happy with it,” Green said. “It was a good first half in possession. All over the pitch we were great. The second half, however, was not as good. We had to show the other side of our game where we can play a bit uglier. We were delighted to see it through and that third goal came at the right time to kill the game.”

Green got his first goal for the Shaymen in the first half. A close-range finish from a Jack Senior corner put the Shaymen 2-0 up just moments before the half time whistle.

“It is the perfect time to score,” Green told Shaymen TV. “It was a real poacher’s goal. I was stood on the keeper and I just tried to react to the knock down. Delighted to finally get off the mark and hopefully I can get a few more.”

The midfielder started the game as a number 10. However, following the introduction of Jack Earing in the second half, Green dropped deeper.

“I enjoy playing in there,” Green said. “It was definitely an uglier second half performance. We did not get it down as much as we wanted to. But I think today showed that we have both sides to our game. We are not one dimensional, we have different styles of playing.”

Town travel to Hartlepool for the boxing day fixture. The second of three games against Hartlepool in a two-week period. Green is hoping for similar performance to tonight to get a second win over the Pools.

“I’m really looking forward to this one,” Green told Shaymen TV. “I used to be at Hartlepool so I’m looking forward to going and playing there. Hopefully, we can take some momentum from tonight and the previous game and give it a really good go.”
