FC Halifax Town head to Ten Acres Stadium on Saturday February 24 when they face 14th placed Eastleigh. The Shaymen are looking to build on the momentum they gained from defeating fellow strugglers Hartlepool 2-0 in a crucial game last Tuesday.

The victory for Town allowed them to create a four-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone and it also saw them overtake their opponents in the league. Halifax had gone eight league games in a row without a win, so the three points against Pools were crucial.

Prior to kick-off on Tuesday night, FC Halifax Town officially announced that Jamie Fullarton had been appointed as the new first team manager, following the departure of Billy Heath. It was also confirmed that his first game in charge of the Shaymen was to be against Eastleigh.

A continuation of their impressive form in the previous game would be the ideal start for Fullarton and his initial aim of making sure Town remain a National League side. Victory for the Shaymen could see them leap-frog Maidstone United in the league and move up to 17th in the division. It would also see Halifax move within three points of their opponents on Saturday.

The fans were treated to a six-goal thriller the last time Eastleigh travelled to the MBi Shay Stadium back in November, after the game ended 3-3. It can be argued that this is the ideal time for the Shaymen to come up against Eastleigh, due to the Spitfires losing their previous three league games.

The boost of having a new manager at the helm and coming into the game on the back of a victory can only be positives for the Shaymen and another victory could really set them on a roll in the division.

Kick-off is 3pm on Saturday February 24 at Ten Acres Stadium.
