You’ll be hard pushed to find a club connection between Eastleigh and FC Halifax Town, but, we’ve just about found one in current Spitfires defender Ryan Cresswell.
Cresswell started his career at Sheffield United, but got his first taste of first-team football at the old Halifax Town AFC, in 2006/07. He made 15 appearances in the defence prior to the clubs dissolution. Three more loan spells came for Cresswell in the form of Rotherham United, Macclesfield Town and Morecambe, before a brief spell in Hungary at Ferencvaros.
He then spent two year at Bury where he became a key player, making 53 appearances, before heading to Rotherham for two seasons, making 38 starts, including scoring 8 goals.
He has played 16 games for Eastleigh since signing from Northampton Town, and scored his first goal for the club against Solihull Moors in August.
