The Shaymen have already made history by reaching the second round for the first time in the clubโ€™s short career, to go one that one step further and rubbing shoulders with the big boys would be a fantastic achievement for the side who came into the competition in the second qualifying round.

Ahead of FC Halifax Townโ€™s Emirates FA Cup second round tie against Eastleigh we have spoken to not just one Spitfire but two fans from the south coast.

Ryan Northover (@northerover_ryan) and Matt Hickson (@MattHicksonFS) were the lucky Eastleigh fans who put their opinions to The Shaymen media teamโ€ฆ

Best player so far this season?

Ryan:Best player so far this season has to be Michael Green, the reason being he always puts in 100% when the rest of the team are not on it. Heโ€™s one of our own and best full-backs in the division (non-bias), he is just as competent pushing up the pitch as he is defending.

Matt:Michael Green by a mile! He has been a solid rock for us at the back so far this campaign.

Review on the season so far & the FA Cup journey to the second round?

Ryan:So far our season has been underwhelming, a team as strong as us should be getting playoffs no sweat, I don’t know what it is…perhaps a lot of new players?? Give us time we’ll be up in the playoffs. The atmosphere was phenomenal against Swindon at our place and we out sung and outplayed them for the 90 minutes.

Matt:So far this season, we have by no means reached our potential. We have a fantastic squad and one that is very capable of getting us into the Football League. After beating Crewe last season, we had lots of confidence that we could go to Swindon and get a result. What a night it was though, we didn’t just beat them, we destroyed them!

Best ground youโ€™ve visited in the national league?

Ryan:I rather like Forest Green Rovers but I really donโ€™t know why

Matt:I would say Tranmere. It’s a big Stadium for the National League, and their fans are a good laugh.

Thoughts on the last time FC Halifax Town & Eastleigh met?

Ryan: Not the most thrilling of games I might say, 0-0 against a side battling relegation when we were pushing for the play-offs summed our season up.

Matt: An underwhelming bore draw.

Aspirations for the remainder of the campaign?

Ryan:Aspirations for this season are to get promotion or the playoffs at a minimum, and we can do that if we buck our ideas up!

Matt: Promotion, with play-offs as a minimum. With the money we have spent, we should be up there by the end of April.
