1. Darlington were the visitors in Halifax Town AFC’s first match at the Shay, all the way back on September 3, 1921. There were 10,143 in attendance to see Town win the Division Three North fixture 5-1 

2. The match played this boxing day at Blackwell Meadows, which Darlington won 3-2, was the first the club have played in the town of Darlington itself for over four years 
3. They have had a ground share arrangement with Bishop Auckland for the past few seasons 
4. Darlington FC were originally formed in 1883, at Darlington Grammar School 
5. They played at Feethams from their founding until 2003 when they moved to the Darlington Arena 
6. They were founding members of the Northern League in 1889
7. Darlington 1883, the club’s current guise, was founded in 2012 
8. The town of Darlington is the terminus of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, the world’s first steam operated passenger railway 
9. The club are nicknamed the Quakers owing to the contributions made to the development of the town by prominent Quakers Edward and Joseph Pease 
10. Former Shayman Chris Senior scored Darlington’s goal in a 1-0 win over Mansfield, to lift the FA Trophy in 2011. Senior is now a sports massage therapist at Arsenal
