Tonight, FC Halifax Town will look to continue their hot run of form as they host Dagenham & Redbridge at the MBi Shay Stadium.

Since Town’s reformation in 2008, the two sides have clashed just the three times, and the results have been mixed.

In the 2016/17 season, Town were drawn against the London club in the FA Cup and eventually progressed to the next round.

The first leg, which took place at Victoria Road, ended in a 0-0 draw, a result which was favourable to Halifax in terms of the fact that they would see Dagenham make the long trip up to the Shay for the replay.

The Shaymen made the most of the home advantage and came out on top, winning 2-1. On that day, Matty Kosylo and target-man Tom Denton got their names on the scoresheet.

The only League meeting between the two was played back in September of last year. The Daggers, who set out at the beginning of the season with hopes of promotion did no harm to their points tally as they won the game convincingly by three goals to one.

Craig Robson and Corey Whitely were two of the goal scorers for the home side and their goals were complimented by Scott Garner who unfortunately turn the ball into his own net for the third goal. The Town scorer was somewhat unlikely as Matty Brown managed to find the net at the correct end for the Shaymen, but it was too little, too late.

The Shaymen will be looking to continue their strong form and prevent Dagenham & Redbridge achieving a league double over them this season.
