Just like the Shaymen, Alfreton Town are gearing up for their 29th Skrill Premier fixture of the campaign, the joint-highest number of games played in the division to date.

The Derbyshire outfit visit lowly Lincoln City, sitting just three points behind Cambridge United who have four games in hand and are vying to secure a double over Braintree Town, following a narrow Boxing Day triumph.

Having endured a difficult festive period Lincoln were given some belated Christmas cheer by holding rampant table-toppers Luton Town to a goalless stalemate. Bringing an end to the Hatters winning run that produced seven successive wins prior to kick-off.

By contrast Braintree have yet to kick a ball in 2014 as their matches have fallen victim to the torrential downpours, the latest being Welling United away last Saturday. But only after their New Year’s Day clash with Cambridge was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
