Good afternoon / evening and welcome to you all. The last 24 hours will hopefully have been extremely beneficial to the Supporters Club, firstly with the Fun Race night at Southowram Cricket Club, and secondly with the Sponsored walk earlier today. Thanks go to Rachel Jakeman and Phil Knott respectively for their input concerning the two events.

Coming up, the Supporters Club hope to take a table of ten at FCHT’s forthcoming Big Night Out on October 19th. Please contact any Committee member should you be interested in joining us.

Our annual Football Quiz night takes place on Thursday October 25th at the Flying Dutchman on Boothtown Road, starting at 8 pm. Children are welcome to attend (it is half-term). and we would like to thank John Chew for allowing us to use his premises for the event. Also, warning that our annual Trip to the Dogs will again be heading for Belle Vue, Manchester following the home fixture with Dover on Saturday November 17th.

We have heard that Supporters Club member Graham Haddon is unfortunately in hospital in Leeds, so here’s wishing him all best from HTSC and FCHT. Hope you’ll be back here at the Shay with us soon!

As an aside, the Supporters Club wish to thank Friendly Framing of Ovenden Road, Halifax (Tel Julian on 01422 252120) for their recent work on programme/photo framing for the Old Post Office when we launched our partnership with the pub prior to the Hartlepool fixture. Put simply, they did a good job at a very reasonable price within tight time constraints. Why not call into the Old Post Office on your way to the next home match? You can be assured of plentiful discussion on all matters FCHT, and plenty of other topics besides!

Finally, just a reminder that we are still on the lookout for additional Committee members for the Supporters Club. As you can see, we have plenty going on, and we could do with a bit of help, particularly with our matchday activities. When Phil Knott joined the Committee, he attended a couple of meetings to get a taste of what goes on prior to “taking the plunge”, and it has been suggested that others may wish to do likewise. For information, our next Committee meeting is scheduled for Monday November 5th.

See you soon,       Kit.
