2nd placed FC Halifax Town travel to 22nd placed Chesterfield in the Vanarama National League on Tuesday 3rd September at the Proact Stadium; 7:45 Kick Off. Here’s how the two sides have been faring so far this season.

FC Halifax Town (last 5) – L/D/W/W/W

Pete Wild’s side continued their unbeaten run at home after battling hard to secure a win against Solihull Moors. McAlinden scored both the goals for the Shaymen but a goal against the run of play put Solihull on the front foot. However, they couldn’t continue their push which saw the Shaymen hold on for three points.

On the 24th August, Town thrashed AFC Fylde 4-1 at The Shay. Goals from Liam McAlinden, Tobi Sho Silva, Cameron King and Jerome Binnom-Williams saw the Shaymen earn a comfortable three points against The Coasters.

Two days later the Shaymen managed come from behind and beat Barrow 2-1 at the Progression Solicitors Stadium. Both Liam McAlinden and Liam Nolan both found their names on the scoresheet after conceding just after one minute.

Chesterfield (last 5) – L/D/D/L/D

John Sheridan’s side are yet to win a game in the Vanarama National League after drawing 1-1 against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday. An equaliser in the second half saw the former Shayman Mike Fondop-Talom score for his fourth for the season. Nevertheless, The Spireites are still without a win in eight.

On the 24th August, Chesterfield nicked a late equaliser to steal a 2-2 draw at home against Barrow. Former FC Halifax Town Striker Scott Boden got the goal which saw them get their fourth draw of the season. Two days later they suffered a 2-0 loss to Stockport at Edgeley Park.

Earlier on in the Month Chesterfield managed to complete their 3rd 2-2 draw of the season. Leading goal scorer for Chesterfield Fondop-Talom managed to add two more goals to his tally as his side had to come from behind against Barnet.

Chesterfield drew 1-1 at the weekend in a home game against Peter Taylor’s side
