FC Halifax Town are slight outsiders for this weekend’s Skrill Premier match at home to Cambridge United.
Neil Aspin’s men are priced at 13/8 for victory, with second-placed Cambridge United being slight favourites at 11/8.
The draw is priced at 12/5.
The Shaymen haven’t beaten Cambridge since April 2007, which was a 1-0 win at The Shay in the Conference. For a recurrence of that scoreline, a price of 7/2 can be picked up.
The same price is available for Town to be winning at half-time and full-time.
Both teams drew their previous games in the Skrill Premier 0-0 and a price of 12/1 can be picked up for the 0-0 correct scoreline prediction.
However, the bookies seem to think that goals will be on the menu again, with both teams to score odds on at 8/13.
100/1 is the huge price that is available for a repeat of the 5-1 scoreline that The Shaymen suffered at the hands of Richard Money’s side on the opening day of the season.
For The Shaymen to reverse that scoreline and pick up a resounding victory over the U’s, 150/1 is the price that is on offer.
The match specials that are on offer include; Halifax to score two or more goals in the first half – 13/2, both teams to score in the first half – 100/30 and The Shaymen to score in the first ten minutes – 7/1.
For those that are looking for a bet on The Shaymen to form part of their weekend acca, the double chance Halifax or Draw market is probably the best on offer. Priced at 4/7 it represents good value with two outcomes covered.
Over 2.5 goals is something else that should be considered for accumulators, with a price of 4/5 available for that particular outcome.
The Shaymen’s only home game of 2014, finished 3-3 in an enthralling encounter with Gateshead. For six or more goals to be scored in the game this weekend, a price of 11/1 can be picked up.
There are 22 markets in total for the Boxing Day bash at the Gateshead International Stadium, all available on the Sky Bet website.
All odds are correct at time of writing.
