AFC’s game against Bury didn’t start well after being locked out of Hipperholme which had manager John Barker frantically ringing around trying to find an alternative ground and in the end secured Brighouse Towns training pitch. With Cass racing around Halifax trying to find his dad to ref it was up to Andy Bowe until he arrived.

Start of the game and AFC looked in confident mood trying to put the result against Coventry behind them and for the 1st 30 minutes looked to have done that with free flowing football which had them 1-0 in the 8th minute, Tom Ashton latching onto a through ball from Marcus to slide the ball under the advancing goalkeeper.

Things got better half hour into the game, a free kick from Rambo was flicked on by Hembers which the keeper spiller and the defender on the line trying to clear his lines smashed the ball against Si Noble and bounce off him into an empty net.

Bury then started to assert themselves on the game and started to dominate proceedings. In the 35th minute silky movement down the left saw the winger cut inside and place the ball past Dave Sutton into the bottom corner to make it 2-1.

They levelled matters 5 mins before half time, a missed header by Gav Higgins allowed the Bury striker to smash the ball into the roof of the net. Half time and AFC needed to re-group but were undone in the 46th minute when the Bury striker capitalised on a mistake in the AFC defence to around Sutton and into an empty net to make it 2-3. Chances were few and far between for AFC, Adam Probets with a lousy dive to try and con the ref which diver Tom Daley would have been proud of.

15 minutes to go and Halifax were 4-2 down, Cassalino was robbed on the edge of his own area to allow the Bury striker to power his shot past Sutton. Manager John Barker reverted to 3 at the back to try and push on to create chances of their own but a chest down from Gav Higgins allowed Bury to score there 5th with a one on one. 6-2 soon came a minute from time, a through ball yet again left the Bury striker another one on one which he coolly planted.

Halifax now move onto Salem and will be looking to get that 1st win under their belts and to gain some much needed confidence.
