FC Halifax Town boss Billy Heath was absolutely delighted with his sides impressive display as The Shaymen battled and showed heart as they beat Bromley 2-1.

Billy said ā€œWell Iā€™m still sweating, just once again a fantastic performance. It was massively important today for us to bounce back from last week and we did, all the players were magnificent again.ā€ The manager was showing his delight with his teamā€™s heroic performance after a battling display to bounce back from last weekā€™s loss and win the three points in front of the home crowd.

The game was full of incidents throughout. Scott Garner was sent of mid-way through the first half. Yet the Shaymen didnā€™t give up there, every player played superbly to get the 2-1 win. Billy said, ā€œTo be down to 10 men for that long a period and win the game and score two goals, what a fantastic piece of work and what a good afternoon.ā€

Speaking about his game plan Billy was delighted. He wanted to push on, even with the ten men and not be negative. He said ā€œWe didnā€™t say at half time to be totally negative and just sit in. We didnā€™t want to get everyone behind the ball thatā€™s not the way you go, even when youā€™ve got ten. They did everything we asked them and more.ā€

Although Halifax did have ten men they took the game by the scruff of the neck and continued to look to dominate. The man in charge said, ā€œWe looked not for one minute we had ten, we were creating all the chances.ā€

Speaking about the team spirit and the mentality of the players Billy said ā€œItā€™s about what the team does, the team at the minute, is a team, and we are a team. That gets lost sometimes, people want to talk about individuals, but at the end of the day, weā€™re a team and thatā€™s why weā€™ve got these many points on the board.ā€

However, Billy wasnā€™t all smiles about the performance ā€œTherefore I would have been so disappointed if we came away with nothing today. Before we went down to ten we were totally dominant. We had chances and half chances and we were totally dominant and thatā€™s why it would have been a travesty if a certain decision had stopped us from getting anything. This is the thing you must capitalise. The biggest disappointment today is we had a full half an hour unanswered virtually and youā€™ve got to score when you have those periods. You always need to score, when youā€™re having your period on top and we didnā€™t, and thatā€™s probably the only negative.ā€

The determination was on display today, the players did everything to win and bounce back from last weekā€™s loss in Dagenham. ā€œI just think after Saturday, we were really determined. I saw it on Tuesday when we trained and I saw it again on Thursday, the two sessions were fantastic, fantastic. The players wanted to put that behind us and go again.
