FC Halifax look to rejoice and kick on from their first preseason game, after a 2-1 defeat to Stockport County at the MBi Shay Stadium. Up next is Brighouse Town at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium and both the players and manager hope for a better result this time around.

Jamie Fullarton expressed after Saturdays game, “that the first game back after the summer break wasn’t about the result but more about reinforcing what they were applying on the training field.”

Looking towards Tuesday’s run out the Town boss explains how “We won’t turn up on Tuesday and just make our mind up there and then. Pre-season was planned 6 weeks ago, and that includes the games, the structure of the games, it includes what minutes people will play and when they will play them.”

With a fairly new squad here at the Shay, the team is still in transaction from old to new and the transformation from part-time to full time, the Scottish manager added that he wasn’t expecting a world-beating performance from his new side today as the players get used to playing together and being at a full-time club.

Brighouse welcome Town for their first preseason fixture this summer, and with new arrivals looking to impress, town wont be in for an easy game. Centre-back duo Nat Brown and Luke Foster are the new arrivals at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium.

Vill Powell’s side ended the season in the Evo-Stik North in 17th position, however on the back of only one defeat in their last six. Last time the Shaymen met Brighouse Town was this time last year where Town came out on top with a 4-2 victory against our local neighbours in front of a crowd of 864 spectators. Goal scorers on what was a glorious summers day for Halifax were; McManus x2, King and Morgan. Lets hope for another sunny day and of course a win for the Shaymen.
