FC Halifax Town face another play-off foe on Thursday 3rd of April, as Braintree Town visit the Shay, in a 7:45pm kick off.

The game is the rearranged fixture, originally scheduled to take place in February, but had to be postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Team News

Neil Aspin has everyone but Ryan Toulson available, and is likely to select an unchanged side yet again, after back-to-back huge home league wins. Josh Wilson is available once more, after returning on Saturday against Luton, while new signing Scott Spencer may be included in the match day squad for the first time, after missing out against the Hatters.

Current Form

Braintree are the midst of a tortuous run in Skrill Conference Premier, catching up with games that have had to be postponed over the course of the winter. Town are performing magnificently considering their fixture pile-up, winning three of their last four games, and sit just two points behind FCHT in the race for the play-offs. Thursday’s visitors did suffer disappointment last time out though, as they were beaten by another rival, Gateshead.

Key Man

Top scorer Dan Holman has been leading the fight for Braintree, and his 11 league goals have been invaluable in their push for promotion. The 23 year-old moved to the Amlin Stadium in 2012 after scoring 29 goals for Histon the previous season, and has continued to be a threat to defenders across the league.

Last Meeting

A Kenny Davis penalty was all separated the two sides earlier on this season, as Braintree grabbed a narrow 1-0 win at the Amlin Stadium. Marc Roberts’ challenge on Sean Marks gave Davis the chance from the spot, and that was enough for the hosts to continue Town’s shocking away record.
