Ahead of FC Halifax Townโ€™s trip to St James Park on Tuesday, we spoke to opposition supporter @banhambtfc for his take on Brackley Townโ€™s season and looking ahead to Tuesday nightโ€™s fixture.

The Shayman into Tuesdayโ€™s night game full on confidence after picking up maximum points on Saturday against their fellow promotion rivals Kidderminster Harriers. Goals courtesy of Tom Denton and Jordan Sinnott saw Billy Heathโ€™s side reduce the deficit between them and Kiddy to just two points.

Stand out Player

The stand out player this season for me has been James Armson. The 27-year-old midfielder who juggles his footballing career alongside his day job being a college education examiner has been a revelation this season under Kevin Wilkin. Armson scored a hat-trick in the 4-3 victory over EFL League One side Gillingham in the first-round replay of the Emirates FA Cup.

Highlight of the season

The highlight of the season would most definitely be that 4-3 victory over Gillingham St James Park, with Armsonโ€™s hat-trick and an own goal by Stuart Nelson condemned the Gills to a first-round defeat. We then travelled to Blackpool for the second round tie but unfortunately it was an unhappy trip to the seaside as The Tangerines beat us 1-0.

Also the 3-1 victory against Halifax at the Shay is up there in one of favourite moments of the season. I thought were going to lose that one quite comfortably, but a brace from Lee Ndlovu and a Steve Diggin strike saw us take all three points.

Play-off push

It may be too little too late with only seven games left to play and sitting six points behind Darlington 1883 in fifth. We do have a game in hand, against Halifax of all teams, but three points in that game could make the table convincing. We have just got to believe.

Prediction

If I was a betting man I would predict a 2-1 victory for The Saints, due to home advantage, or even a 1-1 draw. I canโ€™t see us slipping to a defeat against you.

Last match thoughts

I unfortunately didnโ€™t make the trip to the Shay for the victory earlier on in the season. Speaking to people after the game and they were quick to let me know that the lads played very well, I suppose that goes without saying when you win 3-1 though really.

FC Halifax Town travel to St James Park to face Brackley Town on Tuesday 4thย April, with kick off scheduled for 7:45pm.

You can catch all the build-up and live match commentary on Shaymen Player HD from 7.30pm, as well as full match updates on the Shaymen Wall and our official Twitter feed @FCHTOnline.
