Boston United: We Fear No-One

Adam Morgan says that the Shaymen fear nobody as the race for promotion from the National League North hots up.

After a weekend without a fixture, due to Brackley’s FA Trophy involvement, it has allowed the squad to refresh in preparation for Saturday’s clash with Boston United. “The break has been great as it’s given us a chance to recharge ahead of a big match on Saturday. It’s rare to get a weekend off so we have to take advantage of it when we do.”

A win could be a huge result for the Shaymen as all four sides above Town in the table play away this weekend. Morgan believes this weekend is the chance to consolidate a play-off place at the very least, and the message is clear from the Liverpuddlian striker, who stated Saturday’s game is a ‘must win.’

“We have to win, no matter what. Without any doubt, we must win this game if we want to be taken seriously in this promotion race and keep up with the leaders. We must keep winning because we can still win this league, and at least if we don’t we still have a playoff place. But that can only happen if we keep winning.”

Morgan believes the momentum picked up after three straight wins, the last coming at Worcester, must stay with the squad if they are to pick up all three points on Saturday.

“We can’t let the week without a game destroy the momentum we’ve had, and we have to keep up the hard work from training that were putting in. We must make sure we turn three wins in a row into four. The mentality is good and we all know we can win.”

The striker also hopes he can score against Boston for the second time this season, having netted for previous club Curzon Ashton earlier in the campaign.

“I’ve scored against Boston before, but it’s not about that really. But obviously, my sole objective is to score goals for this team no matter who it is against.”

Town are in action against Boston United this Saturday, 4th March, 3pm kick off. Make sure you’re down at the Shay to cheer on the lads, or follow on all the club’s official social media channels.
