Neil Aspin remained positive in his quest to sign new players despite having a bid rejected for a player.

The Shaymen boss confirmed his first signing of January after brining in Jon Challinor from Stamford and revealed he was looking to dip his toes into the market again to boost the quality of his squad going into the final half of the season.

“The club has been very active in the last week trying to bring in new players. We’ve made a bid for a player which has been turned down but we are still looking for ways to bring in players.

“I’ve said before that it’s difficult to bring in players because clubs don’t want their players to leave, but at the same time there’s no point just bringing in players because you can’t get the ones you want. It takes time to do business but we will be looking to do things in the next few weeks.”
