FC Halifax Town will take a break from league action on Saturday with a trip to Basford United in the Isuzu FA Trophy Third Round, 3pm kick-off
The Shaymen were in National League Cup action in midweek and drew 2-2 with a injury time equaliser from Adam Senior to force the game to a penalty shoot out against Leeds United U21s but lost the shoot-out 5-3.
Town lost 2-0 at home to Southend United last weekend but earnt a point in their last away game at Forest Green Rovers.
Chris Millington will be looking for his side to win their first cup game since winning the FA Trophy back in May 2022.
Our hosts are in the Northern Premier League and are 14th in the table. They lost 4-3 away at Ashton United last weekend and 2-0 away to Workington on the 26th November.
Their last game at home saw them draw 1-1 with Prescot Cables
Basford have beaten Anstey Nomads 5-3 on penalties and St Albans City to reach the third round of the FA Trophy
