Barrow: We’ve Met Before

FC Halifax Town take on Barrow tomorrow and Town will be looking to carry on their form against them to get the 3 points on their travels.

Ben Tomlinson’s marked his return from injury with a goal in the last few minutes of the game giving Town the lead in the wet and blustery conditions at the Furness Building Society Stadium earlier this season. Town defender Matty Brown scored in both halves of the game as he unluckily scored an own goal but also started the scoring for Town in the game to give them the advantage in the game in the 39th minute.

FC Halifax Town 2-0 Barrow 07/08/2018

A clean sheet for Town as they performed well against Barrow at the Shay to take the 3 points. In front of the crowd of 1,654 in early august as Dayle Southwell scored with his left foot into the bottom corner giving the keeper no chance and giving Town the momentum as they go into half time. Barrow did look to create many more opportunities hitting the cross bar and letting off a few shots which didn’t test Town Keeper Sam Johnson enough A stunning header by Halifax captain in the 88th minute to make the score 2-0 and giving Barrow no opportunity to come back into the game that late.

The substitute Jordan White made an immediate impact on the game for Barrow when he came on as within 60 seconds of him coming on for Adi Yussuf, he scored the only goal of the game. The three points for Barrow moved them up in the table at the time to 18th place only one position off Town.

Barrow 0-0 FC Halifax Town 08/08/2017

A tough game which Town manager at the time Billy Heath had predicted it to be with most of the first half being planted in the Town half some resolute defending kept Barrow from breaking the deadlock and the side who finished seventh last season in the league were stopped at one point at home. A fantastic performance for Town keeper which was merited with him receiving the man of the match which shows the defensive performance of Town on the day.
