FC Halifax Town return to Vanarama National League action this weekend after two games in the FA Trophy second-round. The Shaymen travel and return to Barrow for a 3pm kick off Saturday.
Barrow come into the game at the weekend after a 2-0 loss to Havant & Waterlooville in which Kyle Jameson was given a straight red card in the 81st minute and will not be available for selection for Ian Evatt.
The Shaymen have already met Barrow twice already this season. The first game between the two sides was back in August for the second game on the season at the Shay. Town won that game 2-0 a goal from Dayle Southwell just before halftime and Matty Brown sealing the victory two minutes from time.
The second game took place last month in the FA Trophy first round. In what many of the players described as the most challenging conditions they’ve ever played in. Town again won that game 2-1, Matty Brown with a goal and a no goal but with two minutes from time Ben Tomlinson scored the winner on his return from injury.
Barrow are currently sat in 12th position in the league on 39 points. Barrow’s loss against Havant & Waterlooville was their first in the league since a 3-0 loss at home to Eastleigh back on 17th November. During that time Barrow had wins against Salford City and Solihull Moors.
Town head to Barrow in 17th position on 33 points and a win for The Shaymen at Barrow will lift them to 14th in the league should results go in our favour. The Shaymen will be wanting to put the disappointment of exiting the FA Trophy behind them and start climbing back up the table.
