AFC Halifax will be looking to bounce back after a heavy 6-1 home defeat at the hands of Chester last weekend, the usual spirit and work ethic AFC are built on was missing on the day and ensured AFC suffered a miserable day all round.

With FC Halifax Town not in action on Saturday, AFC will travel with a strong squad of 15, over to Honeywell Sports Village, to take on Barnsley. AFC’s Barnsley resident coach driver Niger Walker also expected to make the short journey to support the team. It is also hoped last week’s captain ‘Luders’ will be able to stay with the team until the final whistle this week after vanishing when substituted during the game against Chester.

Barnsley a regular opponent over the past few previous seasons, will be a tough match as all previous encounters between the 2 sides have been closely run affairs, and if AFC Halifax want to put an end to the run of recent defeats they will need their usual commitment and worth ethic to return, In addition manager John Barker also stated last week he would like AFC to start trying ‘A Barca style of play’ a more expansive and possession based game, If AFC are able to execute the managers plans and get back to their best AFC have every chance of coming away from Barnsley with a decent result.
