Jack Redshaw spoke to Shaymen TV about his thoughts following the 1-1 draw away at Barnet.

“I thought it was a game of two halves really. First half, I thought we probably edged it, created some good chances, but second half, there’s no denying that they were probably the better team. Overall, the point was probably a fair result and it wasn’t a bad point when you look back at it.”

The club were pleased to announce pre-match that Jack had committed his future to the club until the end of the season. Redshaw said about the new deal;

“Obviously my contract was running out- I think it was on the 1st or 2nd of January- so the club approached me, the gaffer approached me and said that he wanted to extend the deal. So it ran out on the 2nd and I think I signed again that day as well, so it was nice to be offered a deal until the end of the season and to be playing with this set of lads until the end of the season.”

Redshaw scores his fourth goal for the club in yesterday’s draw, and talked us through his strike;

“Another goal, it’s always nice to get the goal. I think it was Jeff that put the ball in the box, missed everyone and I was at the back stick to the volley it in, back across goal.”

Redshaw also said that the increased gap of a week until Town’s next fixture against Torquay would “definitely” benefit the squad;

“That Christmas period, there’s a lot of games in a short space of time, so now we’ve got a good solid week now to recover and do what’s needed to go to Torquay next Saturday and get a positive result.”
