Before the Shaymen travel to Altrincham on Saturday, we look at players who have appeared for both Town, and our Greater Manchester counterparts.

There has been some recent transfer dealings between the two sides as David Lynch made the move to Yorkshire after being released from his contract at Moss Lane and has so far made 20 appearances for the Shaymen.

Three months earlier, striker Danny Hattersley went the other way, after the end of his contract. Hattersley made 18 appearances last season, which includes a loan spell at Chester, and scored one goal before his move.

Whilst at Rotherham in 2008, Town captain Liam King had a short loan spell at Alty, making 16 appearances in his four months at the club.

Up until last season, Lee Sinnott, father of the Shaymenโ€™s Jordan, was manager of Altrincham, before former Town boss Jim Harvey took the Moss Lane helm. Harvey left the club in December.

Sinnott took his son on loan from Huddersfield Town and Jordan made six appearances in a short stint. He then signed permanently for the club, scoring 4 times in 57 games, before he made the move to Halifax at the end of the last season.

Scott Phelan made a century of appearances for FC Halifax Town between 2008-2011, where he scored 13 times. He made his debut in a 7-1 win over Salford City in the Northern Premier League Division One. After spells with Vauxhall Motors and Kidderminster, he signed for Altrincham in 2012. He retired after a season with the club and took up a coaching role at Everton.
