Aldershot Town: We’ve Met Before

On Saturday October 6th FC Halifax Town travel to Aldershot Town looking to pick up another win in the National League. The West Yorkshire side currently sit in 10th place heading into the clash whilst the side from Hampshire lie in 19th place.

Before the meeting this weekend letโ€™s look at some of the previous games between the two sides.

Aldershot Town 3-2 FC Halifax Town โ€“ 05/09/15

Jim Stevenson gave Aldershot Town an early lead as his low drive beat Glennon in the Town net. Charlie Walker added a second goal for the Shots as he fired home from close range before he doubled his tally on the 51st minute after good link up play between himself and Richard Brodie saw the ball ripple the back of the net. Town set up a nervous ending in this fixture as Danny Hattersley pulled a goal back on the hour mark and then now Bournemouth midfielder David Brooks added The Shaymenโ€™s second of the game to set up to give Aldershot a shaky last half an hour.

FC Halifax Town 0-2 Aldershot Town โ€“ 09/04/16

A goal in either half from Aldershot Town saw off FC Halifax Town in this fixture. Jim Stevenson scored against the Shaymen for the second time in this campaign as he found the back of the net in the 47th minute. The points were secured in the 83rd minute as Rhys Browne added to the Hampshire sides second of the day to make sure of the result.

FC Halifax Town 0-2 Aldershot Town โ€“ 05/08/17

On the opening game of the 2017/18 campaign FC Halifax Town welcomed Aldershot Town to the MBi Shay stadium and fell to 2-0 defeat as they started their first National League campaign after being promoted. The Shots made their intentions clear after Bobby Joe Taylorโ€™s effort from 25 yards just went wide and signalled their attacking intent from early on. Shamir Fenelon broke the deadlock on the hour rounding Sam Johnson to fire home. The win was made secure after Matty Brown gave away a penalty late in the day which was converted by James Rowe on his Aldershot debut to make sure the points headed back to Hampshire.

Aldershot Town 0-1 FC Halifax Town โ€“ 09/12/17

In this fixture FC Halifax Town got their first win in 12 games as Danny Clarke made the Shaymenโ€™s intentions clear stinging the palms of Lewis Ward in the early stages of the game. The West Yorkshire side took the lead through Scott McManus after he disposed Ward and slotted the ball home after a spell of poor play by the keeper. Aldershot had a goal disallowed for offside as Jake Gallagher was caught out by the linesman meaning the points headed back to West Yorkshire.
