Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. The promise of the new season is upon us, and I hope everyone is suitably refreshed from Summer Holidaying or whatever else you get up to through the closed season.

It doesn’t last very long, does it? Our play-off final was on May 13th, and eight weeks later, the first friendly took place at Brighouse. For the most addicted fans, every Saturday and most Bank Holidays are then taken up for another ten months or more, with regular visits to London on the agenda this season.

We wouldn’t have it any other way though, would we? FCHT is in our blood, and we all know we have to support our team, buy the shirt and rejoin the Supporters Club. While the first two seem to be high in everyone’s thoughts, unfortunately the HTSC membership has really dropped off over the last two years. Is it really too much for us to ask for a fiver (which is effectively donated to the Club at the season’s end)?

One factor leading to the drop might well be the fact that we lost our membership database with a change in Secretaries a couple of years since, so we are unable to send out reminders. We will, however be having membership stalls inside the turnstiles for the first few home fixtures, so there will be ample opportunity to bolster our numbers. We will hopefully have announced our first meeting of the season by now, so please come along and join in.

As ever, I have someone to thank in my notes. Today it’s Andrew Pinfield, who gets the plaudits for procuring a pair of Yorkshire Cricket tickets, offered as a prize in our End of Season raffle. We may be a relatively small Club, but we have plenty of individuals who regularly bend over backwards to help us, so thanks to Andrew and all you others out there.

Volunteers are still required to serve on the Supporters Club Committee, so if you think you think you could assist, or even if you just wish to know a bit more about what we expect, just speak to any Committee member.

See you soon, Kit.
