FC Halifax Town pulled back to a 1-1 draw against Aldershot Town following a late equaliser from Jerome Binnom Williams.
Manager Pete Wild spoke to Luke Davis to give his thoughts on the game, being unlucky not to win in the end, and next Saturday’s game against AFC Fylde
On the game…
He said: “We were horrendous for 60 minutes. We weren’t good. I thought we let them dictate what we wanted. They dictated how they were going to press us. How they were going to force us one way, then another. We were slow and cumbersome on the ball. We gave them something to hold onto. Conceding after 50 seconds obviously doesn’t help. From a corner as well, and that’s something we can affect, set pieces. So, it’s really disappointing. All in all, first 60 not good enough. Then we got a foot hold in the game and we were pressing to get a goal and rightly so. Overall, that wasn’t good enough today.”
On chances to win the game…
He said: “We’ve had the chances. We had three in the first half that we should do better with. There were two in the second half as well. We’ve had our chances across the day to more than comfortably get a victory. I think that was just systematic of the performance, it just wasn’t to be today.”
On our next fixture…
He said: “It’s a great test. It’ll be important to get back on the training ground this week. We’ll work as hard as we can to show ourselves against one of the so-called better teams in the league. We feel we can do that. We’ve got more than enough ability in that dressing room to compete with Fylde. So, we’ll be looking to do that next Saturday.”
