FC Halifax Town fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Notts County.

Town came into this game looking to bounce back after a 1-0 defeat to Scunthorpe United on Wednesday.

Macaulay Langstaffโ€™s 38th minute strike was enough to secure all three points for Notts County.

The Town boss made four changes from Wednesdayโ€™s side. Jamie Stott came back into the side after a period on the sidelines due to injury and Adam Senior made his Shaymen debut.

The first chance of the game fell to Notts County when a through ball reached Jim Oโ€™Brien. He found himself through on goal, with only Sam Johnson to beat. However, a smart save from Johnson keeps the shot out.

County had a goal disallowed inside the first 10 minutes. Langstaff nestled the ball into the back of the net, but the linesman had deemed him offside.

Jamie Cooke was shown a yellow card for a foul on Kyle Cameron in the 21st minute.

Adam Chicksen forced Johnson into a save after he collected the ball inside the box. His close-range shot was saved comfortably.

The deadlock was broken in the 38th minute when Langstaff fired County into the lead. Stottโ€™s defensive error left Langstaff through. Johnson came out to tighten the angle but there was nothing he could do to stop the ball hitting the back of the net.

Just before the hour, some good work by Town saw Tylor Golden at the edge of the box. He rounded his man and fired his cross into the box. The ball was searching for Cooke, but it was beyond his reach.

Oโ€™Brien made way for Cedwyn Scott in the 71st minute when the hosts made their first change.

Town made their first change just four minutes later. A straight swap up front saw Rob Harker replace Mani Dieseruvwe. During the same stoppage of play, County made their second change, Sam Austin came off for Jodi Jones.

Jordan Keane was shown a yellow card with six minutes of normal time left to play.

In the final minute of normal time, Aaron Nemane received a yellow card.

In the same minute, Milli Alli came on to replace Golden.

The fourth official indicated three minutes of added time, but it wasnโ€™t enough for Town to change the course of the afternoon.

Next up for The Shaymen is an Isuzu FA Trophy clash against Harrow Borough, kick off is 7:45pm.
