FC Halifax Town booked their place in the fourth round of the Isuzu FA Trophy with a 1-0 win away at local neighbours Guiseley this evening.

Town boss Chris Millington made two changes from the side that beat Dorking Wanderers in the last home league game with Jordan Keane and Luke Summerfield back in the side for Jamie Stott and Kian Spence.

Just a minute into the game, Luke Summerfield’s corner was swung into the box and hit the Guiseley post and was cleared for a second corner.

Defender Festus Arthur scored the only goal from a short corner on 19 minutes as he fired past former Town youth goalkeeper Kyle Trennery for his first goal for the Shaymen.

Mani Dieseruvwe went close to making it 2-0 as Angelo Cappello found Town’s top goalscorer, but his effort went narrowly wide of the target, whilst Warburton had an effort wide of the target just before the half time whistle.

The closest the Lions came to scoring in the second half saw an effort on goal cleared off the line by Dieseruvwe.

A double substitution saw Milli Alli and Rob Harker come on for Jamie Cooke and Dieseruvwe with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Sam Johnson was called into action late on getting down well to his left-hand side to save and kept his 9th clean sheet of the season.

In the next round, Town will face the winners of Swindon Supermarine and Harrow Borough on Sat 14th Jan, they will face each other tomorrow night at the Webbswood Stadium.
