FC Halifax Town came out victorious after a 1-0 win over Solihull Moors.

Town came into the game looking to get back to winning ways after defeat at Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.

Jamie Cookeโ€™s first half goal was enough to secure all three points for The Shaymen

Chris Millington made two changes from the side that fell to defeat on Saturday. Angelo Cappello and Luke Summerfield came in to replace Rob Harker and the suspended Jack Senior.

Cooke was the first player to get a shot off in the game. In the seventh minute, Cooke went on a run down the Solihull half before trying his luck from the edge of the box. It was a comfortable save for Moulden, however. Ethan Vaughan thought heโ€™d put Solihull ahead in the 12th minute as he poked the ball towards goal. However, his shot took a deflection and went out for a corner. The subsequent corner came to nothing.

Cooke was on the scoresheet again for Town in the 34thย minute, after scoring Townโ€™s only goal of the game on Saturday. Cappello went on a run and crossed the ball across the face of goal. The Solihull keeper went to make the save but he missed the ball, leaving the ball free to bounce into the back of the net off Cooke.

The hosts almost had an instant reply. A free kick was swung into the box and Johnson was there to punch the ball away. It fell to the feet of Andrew Dallas, but his shot was cleared away by the Town defence. Town went into the break leading by one goal to nil.

Coming into the second half, the hosts made two changes. Vaughan and Josh Kelly made way for Ben Coker and Ryan Barnett.

Solihull started the half strongly. Alex Reid had a shot, but it was punched away by Johnson. The rebound found Coker who crossed into the box. It met Callum Maycock, but he scuffed his shot and Johnson was able to tip it over the bar.

Moments later, Cooke had a shot on goal from the edge of the box. Moulden did well to get down to his right to keep Cookeโ€™s shot out.

Solihull made their third and final change in the 57thย minute. Callum Whelan was replaced by Kyle Storer.

In the 79thย minute, Kian Spence tried his luck from distance, but his shot was wide of the target.

Townโ€™s first substitution in the 80thย minute saw the goal scorer, Cooke, make way for Matt Warburton.

The second change for Town came shortly after as Cappello was forced off through injury. Sam Minihan came on in his place. Millingtonโ€™s third change was a like-for-like substitution as Rob Harker replaced Mani Dieseruvwe.

The fourth official then indicated four additional minutes. Solihull tried to equalise through Joe Sbarra. However, Johnson was able to punch the shot away. His clearance found Harker who went on a bursting run into the box. His pass found Minihan who looked to be through on goal but Moulden was able to make the save

The referee blew the whistle for full time and the three points headed back to West Yorkshire.

Town are next in action on Saturday with a trip to Bromley.
