FC Halifax Town fell to 3-0 defeat at the hands of Salford City.

In Town’s second 45 minutes at St George’s Park, the Shaymen struggled to create any meaningful chances as the League Two side ran out comfortable winners.

15 minutes gone and Salford took the lead. A good team move from the right found a Salford man inside the box and he swept it home to make It 1-0.

Salford doubled their lead just 10 minutes later. A corner from the left-hand side was whipped in towards the near post and a glancing header saw it creep in at the back post.

It took another eight minutes before the next goal as Salford got their third of the afternoon. Tom Scott made a good first save but could do nothing to stop the follow-up as it went 3-0.

Next up for the Shaymen is the trip to face Mansfield Town behind closed doors on Wednesday.
