Following FC Halifax Town’s 1-1 draw against Aldershot Town, manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“We played some good stuff at times,” Wild said. “We’ve had lots and lots of opportunities that we just couldn’t take. Today’s a today when those missed chances have really cost us. They came and played a 5-4-1 which you don’t normally see but we opened them up well, we created chances but just didn’t get over the line. I knew given time we would have opportunities and we’ve forced four or five good saves in each half but we haven’t capitalised on it.”

Martin Woods netted just his second goal of the season as he fired an effort in from range with just over half an hour remaining.

“It was a great strike by Woodsy,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “He deserved that as he was very good when he came on today. He deserved his goal. We then created far and enough chances to go on and win the football match, but we just didn’t take those today.”

Kieran Green was forced off after just half an hour after picking up knock but Wild some other injured players will make a return.

“We don’t know how bad it is at the moment,” Wild revealed. “He landed heavily on his knee. So we’ll need to assess what has happened there but hopefully it isn’t too bad. There is hope for both Niall Maher and Tom Bradbury for next Sunday which is great and hopefully we will have a few more bodies to pick from next week.”

The Shaymen travel to Stockport for the final game of the regular season and Wild believes there may be some more twists still to come.

“Whatever happens away from us we can’t control, we just need to focus on ourselves,” Wild said. “We just need to make sure we are the best version of us at Edgeley Park next week and we take care of business. Looking at the playoffs, our home form has been massive for us, but it’s not over yet. There’s still another twist and turn in this league and hopefully that’ll come next week.”
