Following FC Halifax Town’s 1-0 win over Bromley, manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“I’m really pleased,” Wild said. “We managed the football game well. I thought the first half was as good as we have played in a long while. We created some really good opportunities and then in the second half we showed a side of ourselves that some people don’t think we have. We were resolute, we defended in our own box really well, and we cleared the ball well. I think you saw two sides to us this evening.”

Town created plenty of chances in the first half, but just couldn’t find the back of the net.

“We played some really good stuff,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “We got into the areas we thought we would be able  to get into. But barring a lot of blocks and some really good saves from their goalkeeper we had some great chances. But I was pleased with how the first half had gone.”

Luke Summerfield netted his first league goal of the campaign as he found the bottom corner from 30 yards out.

“He’s got a strike on him, hasn’t he?” Wild joked. “He doesn’t score tap ins that’s for certain. But it’s a great strike and a perfect way to win a football match. You look at how well he has done since he has come back into the team and he deserves that goal.”

Town host Torquay United in our third consecutive home game. Wild is hoping to keep the good form going with another win.

“I’ve just said to the players that we have to back it up,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “Tonight, all the graft will mean nothing if we don’t back it up on Saturday so that’s what we will try and do. It’s good to put these wins together. For me, it’s more importantly 14 clean sheets for the season. I’ve told the players that the clean sheets are why we’re doing well. If we keep putting these little runs together, especially at home, we’ll do well.”
