Zak Dearnley Joins Town

Zak Dearnley has signed on a free transfer following his release from Oldham Athletic. The young forward spent his youth career with Manchester United whilst also representing England u16s and England schools u18.

The forward was initially loaned to Oldham in January 2019 whilst Pete Wild was caretaker manager. The loan was intended to be for the remainder of the season, but was cut short due to injury.

At the end of the 2018/19 season, Dearnley was released by Manchester United and signed for New Mills in the North West Counties Football LeagueΒ Division One South. However the forward only stayed in non-league for two months, in which he made one appearance, before rejoining Oldham in January 2020.

Originally signing until the end of the season, Dearnley had his contract extended for two years in June 2020. Now with the Shaymen, Dearnley will link back up with Wild and help to bolster our attacking options as we approach the business end of the season.

Zak will wear shirt number 27.
